Kindergarten Kingdom

Eden Christian Academy
2008-2009

Welcome to Mrs. Ciarrocchi's Kindergarten Kingdom! We are all children of the greatest King, and we will be learning how to live in His Kingdom this year. We will learn what kind of King He is by studying His Word, and memorizing His Scriptures. As we tuck God's Word into our hearts by reading it, singing it and talking about it, we will find out more about our special place in His Kingdom.

Kindergarten is a wonderful time. Kids are filled with excitement over every new understanding, and they want to know everything about their world. They are at the threshold, ready to cross from "little kids" to "big kids". They will do this in two important way this year- by learning to read and learning to write. Kindergarten is the year where the scribbles begin to make sense and the kids become able to communicate independently. You'll get the first "I love Mom" paper, and be amazed when your child surprises you by reading a billboard or asking if they can read to YOU tonight. It's a wonderful year!

So, buckle in for a fun ride! We will have many exciting times together throughout the year- field trips, plays, special projects, classroom parties and special guests. This website is meant to familiarize you with some of the procedures in our classroom, so you can stay "in the loop." Look for a weekly newsletter with up-to-date information about what we've learned and what we'll be doing in coming weeks, as well as our class blog to keep you updated with new pictures and posts as things unfold in the classroom. You can find the blog at http://kindergarten-kingdom.blogspot.com.

I look forward to a great year partnering with you and your child! Please don't hesitate to email or phone me with any questions- we are a team and I couldn't teach at all without your support!

Mrs. Ciarrocchi

Our Class Pledge:

I Can...

Do my best when I work and I play,
Be safe, kind and gentle every day.

Keep Control of my hands and my feet,
Clean up my mess and keep the room neat.

Listen to my teacher and follow each rule.
Do the best that I can when I am at school!

We recite this class pledge along with the Pledge of Allegiance to both the American flag and the Christian flag every day. It is a reminder of our behavior in the classroom and what we are striving for.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Colossians 3:23, 24
